Cutting logs one at a time is the bottleneck of every charcoal yard. The LW-FC40 takes a batch of logs — anything from 6 to 40 cm diameter, mixed sizes together in a 1200 mm trough — and cuts the whole bundle to programmable lengths of 5–30 cm.
Charcoal producers get uniform kiln-length billets; firewood sellers get consistent stove lengths; pulpwood and small-diameter timber yards get billets cut to mill spec; mushroom farms get precisely cut substrate logs for gastrodia and ganoderma cultivation. One machine, four businesses.
Batch cutting or one piece at a time?
A batch saw cuts several logs in a single pass, so throughput comes from the number of logs in the trough rather than from cycle speed. That is what makes it roughly five times faster than a single-piece cut-off saw on short lengths. The trade-off is length: batch cutting works to 30 cm on the LW-FC40, and precision is looser than a stop-plate machine.
Above 30 cm, you want a single-piece cut-off saw instead. Our LW-CS1200A cuts 50 cm to 6 m one log at a time to ±3.5 mm. Yards that need both short billets and long timber usually run the two machines side by side, rather than trying to force one machine to cover the whole range — a custom machine spanning 10 cm to 2 m costs considerably more and is slower at both ends.
What it handles
Log diameter is 6 to 40 cm and you do not need to sort by size first — mixed diameters go into the same trough. Raw length in can be up to 10 m. Output is around 5 m³ per hour with two operators. The Ø1000 mm blade runs off a 30 kW motor, 47.5 kW total across the machine, and we build it for 220, 380 or 415V at 50 or 60 Hz.
Dense hardwoods with high silica content — casuarina, acacia and similar — wear blades faster than softwood. Tell us the species you cut and we specify the blade grade for it rather than shipping a general-purpose blade.
